Privacy Policy

What log3x stores

log3x is built for one person's private records, entered by hand. It doesn't collect anything you don't type in, pick, or import yourself. What you enter is stored, in full, on your device:

Encounters

Date and time, linked partner(s), protection status, activity tags, star rating, notes, and whether PrEP or DoxyPEP was taken.

Partners

Name, nickname, nationality, role, address, WhatsApp/Instagram/Twitter/Facebook/Snapchat handles, protection methods, notes, and an optional photo.

Health tracking

STI screening dates and results, and medication schedules (PrEP, DoxyPEP, PEP, and similar) that you set up.

App settings

Preferences like whether Face ID / fingerprint lock is on, your default protection setting, and language.

None of this requires an account. There's no sign-up, no email verification, no username — log3x doesn't know who you are.

Where it lives

Everything above is written to your device's local storage and never leaves it. log3x has no backend server — there is nothing to log into, and nothing for us to receive, read, or store on our end. If you uninstall the app without exporting a backup first, that data is gone; we don't hold a copy, because we never had one.

Photos & contacts

If you attach a photo to a partner, it's copied into log3x's own storage on your device — either picked from your photo library, or, if you link a partner to someone in your phone's address book, imported from that contact's photo. Either way, the image stays local; it's never uploaded.

log3x only reads a contact's details (name, phone number, photo) when you actively choose to link or import one. It doesn't scan or read your full address book in the background.

Location

log3x asks for location access only to help you tag where an encounter happened, or to save your own address under "My Place." It does not track your location in the background, and no location data is transmitted off your device — it's saved as part of the encounter or partner record, exactly like any other field you fill in.

Backup & export

log3x includes an optional "Export Backup" feature that packages your data into a file on your device and hands it to your phone's own share sheet — so you can save it to Files, AirDrop it, or email it to yourself, entirely by your own choice. That file is only ever created and moved when you tap Export; log3x doesn't do this automatically, and no copy passes through us.

App lock & security

You can require Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode to open log3x. This check happens through your operating system's own biometric APIs — log3x never receives or stores your biometric data itself; it only asks the OS "is this allowed to unlock?" and gets a yes or no back.

Third-party links

Tapping a partner's WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or Snapchat entry opens that service's own app or website. Once you leave log3x, that service's privacy policy applies — log3x doesn't share your data with them beforehand, and only passes along the handle needed to open the right profile.

Deleting your data

You're always in direct control: delete a single encounter, a partner, or a photo any time from within the app. To erase everything at once, uninstall log3x — because all data lives only in the app's local storage, removing the app removes the data with it. There's no separate account or server record to clean up afterward.

Age restriction

log3x deals with adult sexual health topics and is intended for users 17 and older. It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly allow anyone under that age to use it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes — anything that affects what data log3x touches or how — will also be reflected in the app's own update notes.
